Review of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) by Kurt C — 21 Jun 2014
I have never read the Chronicles Narnia so I had no idea what to expect before I watched this movie. I am not sure how true to the book this movie is but I absolutely adore this movie!
What I like about this movie.
1. The absolutely stunning sets and scenery and super realistic CGI.
2. The really captivating plot and storyline. The pacing of the movie was just perfect so that I was able to follow the story without my attention wandering off.
3. The wonderful acting done by the actors and actresses. They really bring the characters to life. I dislike Eustace so much when he was a brat but I cheered when he became a more understanding child.
4. The most amazing thing about this movie is how it reels me in from the moment it begins, immerse me in the world of Narnia and makes me feel with the characters.
What I did not like about this movie.
1/ I have never liked Lucy in all the Chronicles of Narnia movies- she was just too much of a goody-two-shoes for me. It's not that being a goody-two-shoes but it's just so difficult to find someone like that in real life!
Something interesting to note about this movie is that I believe it has rather strong Christian allegories. I find it interesting to read in between the lines and understand more about what the movie is trying to say.
Overall, this is a really entertaining movie with acaptivating plot and wonderful acting. I would recommend it to children and teens and fans of fantasy.
