Review of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) by Bob L — 16 Oct 2014
Wow this may have been one of the most tonally weird, surprising movies I have ever seen. They took chaos and made some kind of weird order unlike anything you have ever seen. It had a very dark tone to it.
It's very good, for being kind of weird, dark, almost creatively different and cold. A kind of coldness and odd manipulation rarely seen in franchise movies, this had some unreal imagery and very cold calculated odd scenes of friendship and giving that compares favorably to something like LOST.
A very interesting and unique movie, quite like the Dark Knight or Transformers or even the colder Harry Potter's with it's one-of-a-kind brooding vision, that transcends a lot of the dark, cold, dank movies that are a dime a dozen and come out 20 times a year.
This one was special for being just that much better than a dark, cold, weird, odd visceral movie. Very surprising compelling storytelling.
