Review of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) by Brandon S — 16 Aug 2015
This was the first real adaptation of Narnia to the screen, and for Narnia lovers like me this was phenomenal. What this movie got right: Lucy, Tumnus, and Aslan. Lucy Pevensie was very convincing, but the other Pevensies detracted from the drama. The White witch was decidedly unfantastic and unfrightening, and no story ever rises above its villain. The feel of the movie is modern, not in the style Lewis wrote it, and counts against the film in the hearts of the book's lovers.
