Review of The Children of Huang Shi (2008) by Donna L — 23 May 2009
I watched this movie because I am a fan of Jonathan Rhys Meyers, but have never heard of this film. I was blown away! This story is about a truely remarkable man and what he did to save more than 60 children that he had no responsibility to.
Such an amazing feat! I have to admit that the begining of the movie was extremely graphic, but it effectively painted a picture of terror. The movie was beautiful, and by the end I was in tears. I especially liked during the credits, a few of the real children of Huang Shi spoke about George Hogg's affect and influence on their lives and their memories of him.
Wonderful, moving film.
