Review of The Chalk Garden (1964) by Matt M — 16 Jan 2013
A woman with a mysterious past is hired as the governess for a strange eccentric and cold young girl, niece of a wealthy grandmother who is keeping her away from her daughter whom she feels is too irresponsible.
A soap opera like film, very often too melodramatic, though its powerful performances are what keep it alive.
