Review of The Central Park Five (2012) by Jack G — 12 Jan 2013
The kind of film that does two things brilliantly: reveal the worst in human nature, a rush to judgment, abuse of power, unrequited prejudice... and then how people who are good can stay true to what they know is true, despite everything else.
there is the outrage in the details of the case, but Burns and company show that people are mostly horrible, but righteousness needs some earning even in the face of adversity. I don't know if its the 'best' doc, but its most important and expertly edited.
your heart sinks for these guys every step of the way. and of course a thought like 'Kill the Pigs!' goes thru my mind at the end.
