Review of The Cell (2000) by Cody O — 08 Jun 2010
This is the type of film that cinema, as a medium, was invented for. Highly stylized, profoundly visual, brilliant and artistic, 'The Cell' is about the mind of a serial killer and the social worker who ventures inside it.
It traverses boldly into new territory, skillfully blending its three narratives - the crime procedural, the psychological, and the action/sci-fi - succinctly into a nearly pitch-perfect narrative that is as sensitive to its characters as it is to its aesthetics.
