Review of The Celestine Prophecy (2006) by Siren W — 27 Jan 2013
EXCELLENT book, HORRIBLE movie. It doesn't accurately follow the story line of the book at all, and it looks like they tried to jam the major points of the movie in 1.5hrs, and missed the whole point of the movie to start with: the insights.
I read the book, LOVED it, and showed my husband the movie, and it wasn't even the same. I feel like he won't read the book now, which is a shame because the book teaches you some very useful and valuable and point that the movie doesn't even show.
If you're not a reader, I suggest you go get a copy of the book, sit down and start reading, and you'll find yourself reading the book in a couple of days. If there's one good thing I can say about the movie, it's that, if you watch the movie before you read the book, you can actually still go read the book and be interested because it's THAT different.
GO BUY THE BOOK!
