Review of The Cars That Ate Paris (1974) by Alister N — 05 Jun 2007
Weir's first feature is a dark comic look at social mechanics as well as literal ones, although it is slightly amateurish the premise is great and featuring good turns from an impotent mayor (John Meillon) and a young Bruce Spence as the village idiot, Bruce Smeaton's core too is suitably nervy (complete with a Morricone pastiche).
