Review of The Captive (2014) by Richard S — 06 Jun 2017

I'd been waiting to watch this movie for quite some time but it was denied a UK release until just recently when it surfaced on Netflix. I found The Captive to be one of the most tense and unsettling kidnap thrillers I have ever seen.

To achieve this the film makers did not rely on shocking or disturbing images, it was purely down to a well written story line and very well developed characters. Kevin Durand was especially good as the sinister creepy one behind all of the wrong doings, it was certainly a very different role from the characters I have usually seen him playing.
