I couldn't escape comparing this to Ken Russell's Crimes of Passion, which also promised to lay bare sexual compulsions. Like Russell's film it also touts an actress who has seen better days in her career.

I must admit, Lohan surprised me that she's capable of pulling off a lead role in a movie. I was also impressed by the porn star James Deen's acting chops. But not enough characters to give a hoot about lead to an hour and a half of wondering if something would ever happen.
