This is a sad story of bad animal welfare, with an adventure setting (as if most people aren't already familiar with the basic story!). Its very much an ok film, not especially 'stand out'-ish but not really bad by any means either.
There are some nice landscape shots and the characters are ok - the casting isn't bad, not brilliant but ok. I wouldn't especially recommend it, no.
