Review of The Call (2013) by This G — 07 Aug 2013
What starts out as an interesting premise filled with suspense, quickly turns into a generic thriller that ultimately goes nowhere. The film quickly got me interested with the opening scene, I was invested in Halle Berry's character and her struggle after a dramatic event left her traumatized.
Then Abigail Breslin's character comes into the picture as the next victim for the serial killer of the movie. We then follow Halle Berry's character as she tries to find her. I found all of this entertaining, but then after the first hour things start to get more and more ridiculous to the point where I'm just rolling my eyes at everything.
The final scene was particularly stupid and just came out of left field. It left a bad taste in my mouth. The last thirty minutes of this movie just ruined it all for me. An overall below average suspense thriller.
Meh.
