What story did Lee Daniels want to tell? Instead of telling a personal story of the man Cecil and his family, Lee Daniels seemed to give us a history lesson of the 20th century that Cecil had nothing to do with.
With so many characters and going back and forth between all the major events at the time, the movie loses its focus of telling an incredible journey.
