Very good movie that allows you to see civil rights movement from those that lived it. The story is more fictionalized than it leads you to believe. However, I would think that Forrest Whitaker should have received a Best Actor nomination.
However, given some of the movies that were NOT nominated for Best Picture, leaving this movie off the list is understandable. Perhaps the most revolting thing about the film - having that disgusting Jane Fonda play a classy woman like First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Aboslute disgrace to Mrs. Reagan.
