Review of The Butler (2013) by Sharon T — 19 Jan 2014
In a year without so many great movies, this probably would be a Best Picture contender. It's a moving tribute to the civil rights movement, but from a unique perspective. At times it has a bit of a Forrest Gump feel, where the characters are conveniently tied to every major historical event of the time. But the star-studded cast keeps it from being too academic.
Grade: A.
