With a fascinating true story, a fine script full of powerful dialogue written by Danny Strong, an amazing all-star cast full of incredible performances headed by Forest Whitaker as Cecil Gaines, Oprah Winfrey as Gloria Gaines, David Oyelowo as Louis Gaines, Elijah Kelly as Charlie Gaines, Terrence Howard as Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr.

, Lenny Kravitz, Robin Williams as Dwight D. Eisenhower, James Marsden as John F. Kennedy, Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy, Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan and special appearances by Vanessa Redgrave, Alex Pettyfer as Thomas Westfall, Mariah Carey and Clarence Williams III, wonderful directing by Lee Daniels and a slow, but alright pace and flow, The Butler is a film that gives you a glimpse into the decisions and lives of what different presidents did in their terms, but also shows history in a way that also teaches you what happened in those decades while your watching it.
