Drab, sanctimonious, condescending trip through racial political history. Insulting to black Americans. Self-congratulatory to whites. What a dirge. Where's Lee Daniels' anger and balls? Though, 'The Butler' is in no way as sugary or as reductive as the 'The Help'.
