Review of The Burning Plain (2008) by Magin G — 24 Feb 2010
For Guillermo Arriaga first time directorial day-bu failed at capturing all the elements of earth, wind, and fire in "The Burning Plain" I feel if your going to use these elements as the theme for this film there must be more meat on the bone.
This film is a your basic one-tone films, I loved the fact the music composer is Omar Rodriguez Lopez. One of the characters in this film "Xavier" (Jose Gallardo Jr.) was miscast-ed. Arriaga is one of the greatest screen writers ever to come out of the latino film industry, as a first time director he has along road ahead of his career.
