Review of The Bucket List (2007) by Jared M — 05 May 2011
This movie does almost everything right. The acting is top notch, the characters are interesting and realistic, and it could be very moving at times. The only flaw was the plot, it sucked. So, 2 hospital patients who have cancer figure out there going to die, so they decide to make a bucket list.
That's OK, I guess, but if you had cancer, you can't skydive, drive at top speeds, or visit the pyramids! The worst thing about it is the fact that that's the entire movie! If the plot was better, this would be amazing, but that isn't the case.
Nicholson and Freeman have great chemistry together and it makes it feel like they're the characters, not themselves. The ending is a great conclusion and made me feel great. Overall: The plot sucks, but everything else is close to perfect.
If you can just ignore the stupidness, it's a fun adventure that makes you feel good.
