Review of The Brothers Bloom (2008) by Westleigh Q — 17 Jul 2010
Roll the charm of Huckleberry Finn together with the feel of a Wes Anderson flick and you get The Brothers Bloom, a quirky con artist movie set in exotic locales around the globe. I'm honestly split on how to rate this movie.
It's funny, but not a comedy; it's well written, yet I didn't follow it well; I didn't like the ending, but I wanted more when it was over. In the end, I was continually intrigued by The Brothers Bloom's unique "old timey" feel, yet unabashed use of modern times.
Certainly an interesting film.
