Review of The Brood (1979) by Richard S — 19 Sep 2007
It's a strong early offering from Cronenberg, but it feels limited by genre constraints. The showpiece scenes and overall mood make it worth seeing (and probably returning to), but he hadn't quite reached a point where he could make even the most outlandish things believable.
I know he was there by Videodrome. I'm curious to see if he pulled it off in other films of this era.
