Review of The Bridges of Madison County (1995) by Enrica C — 07 Jan 2010
"The Bridges of Madison County" is a good, but not outstanding movie.
The plot itself is very basic, predictable, and with no surprises at all.
As somebody already said, Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep make the film... that's the reason why I watched it, and that's probably the reason why I liked it and cried toward the end.
But I have to say this: locations are gorgeous, both Eastwood and Streep showed again their no-ending acting talent, and... the main message of this movie was as current in 1995 as it is now in 2010: do what YOU want, and not what other people want you to do; we're given the possibility to live just one life, so let's try to get the best out of it.
This is the most beautiful "thing" this movie leaves in the audience's heart... we should live for ourselves, not for other people to judge us.
