Review of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) by Jon O — 15 Feb 2009
I'm tired of people saying this film is deep, accurate, or even a good war movie. It is not accurate in the least, and thus cannot be considered a good war movie, in my opinion. Any constructive message I could have gotten from it was shattered by the bloodbath at the end.
It got two stars from me because it's entertaining, and well acted, but all the hype about it is sheer "madness.".
