Review of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) by Timothy L — 03 Apr 2009
This film from Dr. Zhivago director, David Lean, is incredible. Carefully cast, Alec Guinness is excellent as the proud colonel of the British forces. William Holden is good in the role of the stubborn, ignorant, ill-mannered American, and the supporting cast clearly stands up to the test of their acting skills.
The ending is as intense as it could have been, and their are some surprises along the way.
