Review of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) by David S — 05 Oct 2009
One of the great films. This plus Lawrence of Arabia are a film geeks wet dream. David Lean knows how to tell a great story and gets great performances from all his actors. However this is Guiness' film and he is simply amazing here.
I can't find any fault with this. Yes, it is long and the Holden story isn't as engrossing as the Guiness one but I wouldn't change a second of it.
