Review of The Bride Wore Boots (1946) by Sylvester E — 23 Apr 2013
Just an ok comedy vehicle for Ms. Stanwyck here. She plays a horse enthusiast married to a civil war historian whose marriage is on the skids. When she finds him in more compromising positions with his secretary than he can explain, he dumps him.
How will he woo her back? Does he want her? Does she want her? This was just ok, everyone here seems to having an awkward time. Cummings and Stanwyck have zero chemistry together, and Stanwyck looks like she can hardly wait for the whole thing to be over.
