Review of The Breakfast Club (1985) by Curtis S — 23 Jun 2013
Many consider it to be an icon of eighties nostalgia. These people are not wrong, however it's really so much more. It's timeless. It could be set in almost any decade after the 50's, or even before, and it still would have worked.
Even where it is set is almost irrelevant. It's all about the characters. And even though they're all teenagers, the things they learn and the ways they develop over the course of their 9 hours of punishment can be considered a valuable lesson for people of any age.
