Review of The Break-Up (2006) by John S — 19 Feb 2010
When Hollywood puts together two really entertaining actors, it isn't an automatic reason for it to be good. We all know that. I adore Vince Vaughn and I have always been a big fan of Jennifer Aniston from Friends and my opinion of her even got higher when I saw her in The Good Girl. At first I thought this would be a fantastic film and it would be a complete hilarity, but in the end it wasn't too be but still it's more then enjoyable.
The Break-up is okay, maybe not a great experience. She's funny but never completely leaves the airport (greatest metaphor ever). We never really are able to get to know the characters completely before the Break up? began. Big plus seeing Jon Favreau and Vaughn again, they have the best scenes even though that isnâ't a stretch.
Okay, I kinda felt like the director Peyton Read lost the storyline of the film while shooting and because of that it felt like the movie often repeated it self sometimes. But to sum up I kinda enjoyed it, the end easily saves it and I was really able to connect to the film finally with a message we can all take into our own lives.
6/10 - Nothing great but more then a decent time waster.
