A really good idea and they focus on the real human drama. Jodie Foster is really good here. Then in the last 20 minutes they have to sell some tickets and it becomes exactly what you were praying it wouldn't be.
Endings like this suck because you see it coming before you get to the theatre and slowly it wins you over and by the time you're really into it they turn on you.
