Review of The Boys from Brazil (1978) by Richard H — 08 Jun 2007
A good tale for those who love their conspiracy theories (I know I do). Is it real or just fiction? The inquisative part of me ponders that! It works delightfully well and despite being almost 30 years old hasn't aged to badly at all. Yes it could be considered somewhat ludicrous but so what. Perhaps its a little simplistic and begs the question does it warrent a remake? perhaps it does. If like me you love a good conspiracy and need to know the answer to every little mystery in the world then I think this is worth watching. I don't think its unfair to say that its probably better than half the tripe that is trundled out today. Having left itself open to a sequel, I wonder if one was ever done and if not, why? There are unanswered questions, and for gods sake if I have said it once I'll say it a thousand times, I do hate unanswered questions.
PS: gratuatous tats in this movie did not in any way help it gain half a star!
