Review of The Boys Are Back (2009) by Ching T — 19 Oct 2009
Good film and story about the clumsy emotional growth all three boys, father, older son from a previous marriage, and younger boy from current marriage, are forced to confront when the father is suddenly widowed.
The pace ambles on as emotions mount beneath the surface, but they never fully articulately resolve their inter relational issues to my satisfaction. This is actually acceptable and quite realistic since men never really talk through their problems in real life.
The story was a good one, and its nice to see a movie about a grieving single father trying to do his best. The best thing about this movie? Clive Owen allllllll over the screen, and the beautiful cinematography of Australia!! Makes me want to plan my next vacation now!
