Review of The Boys Are Back (2009) by Florian S — 12 Apr 2010
Growing up can be the adventure of a lifetime. - The Boys are back, including Hollywood's allround talent Clive Owen who prooves one more time that he's able to play every role in life. After a comedy ("Duplicity" - 2009) and a political thriller (Tom Tykwer's "The International" - 2009), his leading performance as well as those of his supporting "boys" are extraordinary.
Director Scott Hicks ("Shine", "Snow falling on cedars") focuses the true story on three men who try to cope with the aftermath of the mother's tragic death.
Nice soundtrack with many guitar and piano sounds stress the emotional atmosphere of the movie. Distributed by Miramax comes this movie which was premiered on several film festivals worldwide (e.g. Toronto International Film Festival and London Film Festival).
