Review of The Boys Are Back (2009) by David S — 01 Feb 2012
Refreshing reality in the maelstrom of the modern family home provides a vehicle for a series of hilarious cameos, interspersed with depressingly familiar normality.
Quintessentially australian in a subtle way (is that an oxymoron?) - anyone who gets above themselves gets deflated mercilessly, and the poms get a good mocking for their old-fashioned, duplicitous, ways.
Was this the break-film for Emma Booth to develop the sparky single-girl role taken to such extreme in Pelican Blood?
Should be compulsory viewing for all political aspirants who want to pontificate on 'family values'.
