Review of The Bourne Legacy (2012) by Anders P — 07 Aug 2013
The Bourne Legacy isn't as good as the Matt Damon Bourne trilogy, if you think otherwise well then, you're a fucking moron. That being said, I still enjoyed The Bourne Legacy, despite its flaws.
I actually like the direction that they took with this film, instead of just being focused on Jason Bourne, this installment delves deeper into the Ludlum universe, which I actually found interesting.
The characters are well fleshed out and developed, and the story has all the twist and turns one would expect from the franchise. And the acting from everyone in the cast is also really good. However, the action scenes, while fun to watch and thrilling, are subpar when compared to those of the Damon trilogy.
I believe this to be because of the pacing of the film, it just feels too slow. Plus, the idea of someone traveling around the world to get his pills just isn't as exciting as someone trying to unravel a massive conspiracy.
And as for the ending... it just sucks. Despite these flaws, I enjoyed Then Bourne Legacy for what it was. And it is still a good summer blockbuster, and it benifits from its new lead character, but when compared to the other films in the series it falls flat.
