Cracking maritime yarn. Superb acting by an all-star cast at the top of their game. Anthony Hopkins, Mel Gibson, Daniel Day-Lewis, Laurence Olivier, Liam Neeson, Edward Fox... Look out for Neil Morrissey playing the part of an able seaman! Vangelis soundtrack will take you thirty-somethings back :).
