Review of The Borrowers (1997) by Lindsay K — 08 Aug 2007
This film may be underrated, but I can't decide. It's either incredibly ingenious or poorly done. I am going to give it credit simply because of the premise. It's colorful, strange, and somewhat addicting.
The problem really is that it's not your typical children's film, for better or for worse. It is precisely because of this that it didn't do so well in theaters, but that certainly doesn't mean this is a bad film.
You just have to get used to it. It's one of those that I would encourage everyone to at least give a chance. It may be that you won't enjoy it, but there's also that slight chance that you will really appreciate it, and this film deserves more credit then it seems to get.
