Review of The Boost (1988) by Matthew M — 15 Oct 2009
I watched this movie because I enjoy both James Woods and Sean Young. I had no idea what exactly the film was about and it turned out to be a drama about drug addiction. However it was different in that it showed more of the beginning of life before drugs.
I was waiting for them to become addicted however it was not a full fall into the drug scene as what usual movies do. I mean it shows what happens but it does not really exploit it. Instead it shows what might actually happen in a more realistic way.
More of a story about what would happen but not to the point of utter ridiculous. It is a sad film with not a very happy ending. I felt that the acting made the film a lot better and the unusual approach in telling the story.
Overall, it is a different film about drugs and it is well acted.
