Review of The Boondock Saints (1999) by Sara D — 08 Jun 2012
I am well aware many critics dislike this movie.... My question is, why? It knows what it is? The actors know what it is, as do the fans? Why all the hate? The acting is wonderful, the action scenes are pretty amazing, and the jokes are hilarious! What's not to love, it's not a movie trying to preach a message, its just a very unlikely story of Irish twins feeling the call of God to take down criminals who slip through the system.
It's been done, but in this, it has been done well. I love this movie, and I'm not afraid to drag others along for the ride. So that we may quote is endlessly and make silly fangirl fueled fanart.
.... In conclusion, for the uptight critics who take it to seriously, fix your funny bone and realize that not all movies need to be groundbreaking to be good.
