Review of The Boondock Saints (1999) by Falloutman — 29 Jul 2006
It's a shame that on this site the only reviews are from either over-excited kids who give this film 10/10 because it has guns in it, and people who can't appreciate it at all. Yes, it rips off both Pulp Fiction and Leon in places (I cringed at the 'No women, no children' philosophy of Billy C's character), but, in my humble opinion, this film beats Pulp Fiction.
It's funnier, but in a way that seems coincidental rather than deliberate (the scene where the brothers play a trick on Rocco is superb), and the toilet- dropping scene near the beggining is breathtaking.
Overall, those who give this film a 0/10 mark are pretentious fools who cannot enjoy this film for what it is- a fun little action film with a tremendous story.
