Review of The Book Thief (2013) by David P — 06 Jul 2014
If I could sum this movie up into one word, it would be: boring. With a setting in Nazi Germany, I kept waiting for something truly heart-breaking and dramatic, but my expectations were too high for this to be enjoyable.
This is one of those stories that should have stayed on the pages, unfortunately. Also, as the narrator, Death wasn't in the movie or narrating near enough, it annoyed me as I felt it interrupted the story.
Acting is respectable, although I must say stick with one language, it just sounds stupid when speaking English and German in one sentence (talking about you, "Nein").
