Review of The Book of Life (2014) by Kamyl C — 13 Dec 2014
This movie is one of the best I have seen in years. The covers and original "Apology Song" are simply beautiful. This movie is so so amazing. Even without the much needed positive representation of Mexican culture, and even without the director being, in my opinon, one of the best directors to be alive today.
It outranks many of the movies, animated or otherwise, to come out in 2014. It has a striking style. The characters resembling wooden marionettes, and OH the colors, the colors are so wonderful. Splendid, genius, wonderful movie.
To put it in other words, I watched it thrice in movie theaters (the first being on the release date) and recommended it to all of my friends and teachers. That is so uncommon of me, I am usually so quiet.
If you have not yet watched this masterpiece go and do so! It is very much worth it.
