There are a number of flaws with The Book of Life, but overall, I liked this film. Its visuals are gorgeous and very distinct. This has covered ground that not a lot of big-budget animated films do. This feels like a genuine and personal story told through the passion of El Tigre creator, Jorge R.
Gutierrez.
