Review of The Book of Life (2014) by Andrew M — 19 Jan 2015
Colourful, beautiful and interesting animation, and good music and voice acting. On that level, I'd recommend this. On a story level, though, it never seemed to take some time to stop, like it was made for someone with a short attention span.
.. oh. That said, it never got really annoying, it just kind of left me wanting for a bit of a break, as even the slower moments are rather fast, filled with movement. Still, I did appreciate that the villain wasn't simply outright evil, and it's legitimately funny with some jokes only adults will fully understand.
Just be prepared to try to calm your kids down afterwards.
