Review of The Book of Life (2014) by Margaret L — 23 Feb 2015
As far as children's movies go, I've come to expect more than what this movie provides. Not completely downtalking this movie's points, but have grown accustomed to movies that balance entertaining the child while still stimulating the parent.
I found this movie very slow and dull - the animation was fabulous, and some of the characters and concepts were truly entertaining and interesting - but it lost my attention fairly early on and I'm unlikely to play again.
The kids enjoyed it, and I always love exposing my children to new thoughts and ideas - so I kept it at four stars for the diversity and graphics, both of which made up for the yawning mom did.
