Review of The Book of Henry (2017) by Jessica B — 16 Jun 2017
This film was not what I expected it to be but I enjoyed it anyway. I cannot say enough about how amazing Jaeden Lieberher and Jacob Tremblay are in this film. These two young actors have bright futures ahead of them.
They were so convincing as brothers and the emotions they were able to convey were just outstanding. They matched the greatness that is Naomi Watts, who plays their mother. The acting all round was great in this film.
The negatives I had were some of the dialogue was a little cheesy and the ending was very predictable after a certain point. There is quite a dark twist in this film that I didn't see coming that floored me.
I was not expecting to be so emotionally hit by this film. I believe that the good outweighs the bad and the performances of the young actors in this film make it worth seeing.
