Review of The Book of Eli (2010) by Lloyd H — 04 Apr 2013
I initially wanted and expected The Book of Eli to be similar to the Mad Max films. Any film based on the subject of a post-apocalyptic future always grabs my attention. This film had the potential to be great, it raved a stellar cast in the form of Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman and promising newcomer Milan Kunis.
However the film struggled to live up to its expectation and it offered little excitement or originality. All I wanted to do was stop watching this film and watch 'Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior' instead.
The Book of Eli is predictable, simple and very much style over substance.
