Review of The Bone Collector (1999) by Deb S — 07 Feb 2010
"Bone Collector" proved to be an excellent movie, spine tingling and filled with great twists. Denzel Washington was good as the paraplegic cop intent on helping catch a serial killer. Angelina Jolie was also superb as an inexperienced cop persuaded by Washington to help apprehend the ruthless killer who is twisted, calculated and smart. Ed O'Niell really steps into the foreground as Det. Paulie Selitto and it is refreshing to hear dialogue from him that included words that Al Bundy would say.Queen Latifah, was wonderful in a lesser role. This movie is non-stop thrills and chills and eventually we come to a climatic ending that actually filled me with a sense of satisfaction.
It's very New York with excellent shots of the City but it plays a lot on urban paranoia's and will certainly make one think twice about jumping into the next yellow cab.
