Review of The Blues Brothers (1980) by Matt M — 12 Jan 2013
Simple, yet unforgettable. A winning recipe. With a blues and soul soundtrack, spectacular and somewhat random sequences, and two lead characters as iconic as they come, the film tells the simple story of two men who, in order to save their orphanage, are divinely inspired to get their band together again.
Based on their Saturday Night Live skit, Belushi's and Aykroid's characters interact with stars Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, James Brown, Cab Calloway and many others.
