Review of The Blues Brothers (1980) by Saban E — 10 Sep 2011
Classic musical comedy helmed by John Landis and featuring the now-legendary performances of John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as soulmen Jake and Elwood Blues, on a mission from God and aided and abetted by rhythm-and-blues titans James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Cab Calloway.
Movie gets funnier with every viewing, and I grow more appreciative of how Landis organized that amazing chase sequence through downtown Chicago. Incredible auto-stuntwork. Best line belongs to John Candy - "Who wants an Orange Whip? Orange Whip? Orange Whip? Three Orange Whips!'.
